I like the capo trick. Incidentally, I've played an alternate G with the D tuning that is fingered with two fingers on the 5th fret, the D (E) string, and the A string. It is a bit of a stretch, but is also possible.

Paul

I agree with CadCowboy. Great lesson and great country capo trick. He isn't talking about the G string about the chord as a whole.

CadCowboy

Okay, show me how you're gonna finger that!? 6th Str./5th Fret, 5th Str. / 2nd Fret, 1st Str. / 3rd Fret . . . 2, 3 & 4 open? My hand doesn't bend that way! Thanks for replying mi amigo! Rock On!!

IN D TUNING, YOU DO NOT LOSE YOUR G CHORD, YOU REFINGER THE CHORD BY 5TH FRET 6TH STRING AND THRIRD FRET 1ST STRING. INFORMATION GIVEN WAS MISLEADING. GOOD INFO ONE THE CAPO READJUSTMENT.
